Not a lot of people are aware of this, and a lot won't even pay attention until they have been bitten by it. I think that credit cards and any kind of credit should be used only if a person has no other options. The interest rates alone should be enough to scare you away.

Great Post. It's amazing how badly these companies treat those that they rely on to make the payments. I'm sure it's part of the reason Dave Ramsey completely detests them and teaches people tips on budgeting to get out of debt and cancel all credit cards.
The only thing card companies may do that you mentioned in your post is possibly charging statement fees, however I think they should give people the option. The reason should be for environmental preservation. Any fees earned by the companies should be 100% directed to an environmental protection agency/charity.Thanks again for the post,

Though I'm being advised by everyone to stay away, Well thanks to this so much for just getting one for "emergencies" - Guess I'll have to be forced to use it.

Thanks for listing these, it will help alot of people sort through the new mess of the new regulations.... I wonder, because in some cases I bet it could be worse for consumers now if they aren't aware of the changes. Frankly, I plan not to use my U.S. credit card again - but I'll need to look up the inactivity fee. I hope there's an easy way to find out about it. Citibank has stopped mailing me my monthly bill/update.
