Japanese Toilets are a marvel of technology combined with practical application. Morinosuke Kawaguchi is a Technologist and Futurist who recently gave a talk at TEDxTokyo talking about the modern Japanese Toilets and how the cultural sensitivity has impacted its design and continues to influence its evolution. Mr Kawaguchi’s recent book Otakude onnanoko na kuni no monozukuri (“Neon Genesis of Geeky-Girly Japanese Engineering”) explores the cool and wild territory where the geek subculture can teach technology how to create innovative products with a competitive edge. Here is the YouTube video of his ‘Toilet Talks’.

Fans of Mr Kawaguchi’s ideas and vision can also find him on Facebook

The built in sprinkler systems are the BEST!

I’d gladly spend $3,000 for those toilets, just need to have more retail outlets close buy to buy em!
