Entrepreneurs are busy people. It can help to have a checklist of things to help you keep on track, and stay with the big picture. February was a great month to really get things moving with your business. March is a great time to build up momentum. Here are 5 things you can do as an entrepreneur during the month of March:

1. File Your Corporate Tax Return

If you file a Form 1120, you need to file by March 15. It is important to note that corporate tax returns need to be filed earlier than individual tax returns. If you Don’t think you will be able to get everything done by the deadline, you can file a Form 7004, which is what is needed to request a six month extension.

2. Look Through Business Credit Card Offers

You might be looking for financing for your business. Now, with the economy showing signs of recovery, credit is easing a little bit. I know I’ve seen more business credit card offers in my mailbox. Chances are that you are starting to see offers in your mailbox as well. Sift through the offers, and consider your needs. If you plan to travel a lot, it might be worth it to get a business miles card. If you will need to get discounts on merchandise and supplies, consider rewards programs that offer those items. It is important to look for the best terms, and rewards that fit your business needs.

3. Make a Plan for Establishing Business Credit

If you know that you are going to need business credit, you will need to make a plan for establishing your business credit separately from your personal credit. A business credit card can help. You can also register with a business credit agency like Dunn & Bradstreet, and be assigned a number that can be used in business transactions. (Disclosure: I am paid to blog at AllBusiness.com, which is owned by Dunn & Bradstreet.) You set up revolving credit accounts with your vendors so that you start building up a good financial reputation. Of course, you have to make on-time payments if you want to have good business credit.

4. Look Ahead for Conferences and Networking Events

Think about what conferences, trade shows and networking events would be beneficial for you to attend. Find out their dates, and the requirements to register, along with cost. Decide which would be most beneficial (especially if you have a limited budget) and pencil in those dates. Begin making a plan to help you get there, and identify the steps you will need to take to be ready.

5. Make Changes to Your Web Site

Last month, you should have cleaned up your social media profiles and taken your web site for a test drive. Now that you know what can be improved on your web site, it is time to implement changes to your web site. Spend the month of March cleaning things up, upgrading your site and re-designing. You might need to upgrade your hosting, and/or find a web developer/designer to help you. Updating your representation on the web is an important part of coming across as a professional.
